WhatsApp is planning to introduce WhatsApp web beta program for iOS and Android beta users soon.

WhatsApp typically provides beta programs for its Android and iOS-based apps to test its features before being released to a wider audience around the world. Enrolling in a beta program gives users the opportunity to access the messaging app’s features well in advance. Now, word is that the company plans to offer a similar feature for WhatsApp Web.

WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp plans to introduce the WhatsApp web beta program to iOS and Android beta users soon. The program will be compatible with both WhatsApp Messenger and WhatsApp Business App and will enable users to use WhatsApp Web without connecting their phone to the Internet. Simply put, this will enable the company to test the functionality of long-standing high-end devices.

Screenshots shared by Tipster indicate that a lot of existing features of WhatsApp Web may not work for users once they are included in the WhatsApp Web Beta program. For example, Delete for Every feature can work on linked devices but not on WhatsApp web. The company will gradually add support for this feature.

The company also notes that other users will have to update their WhatsApp version to chat with the users enrolled in the event. If the other person is not using the recent version of WhatsApp then both calls and messages will not be supported.

Finally, the screenshot states that users joining the program will be able to link up to four desktop devices, including the Facebook portal, at once.

Additionally, the screenshot says that the option to join the program will be available in the Settings menu under the WhatsApp Web / Desktop option. It will only be visible to users who are already part of the company’s beta program. Once users click on the WhatsApp Web Beta program, they will be greeted with a prompt that says join the new WhatsApp Web Beta, for which you no longer need to keep your phone connected. By clicking on the Got It button, the user enrolls in the program.

That said, the program is not yet available. It should be available to users with future updates.
