Uttar Pradesh: Former Chief Minister Mayawati welcomed the initiative of PM Narendra Modi to call a meeting of the Chief Ministers in Kovid-19 cases in the country.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and Uttar Pradesh (East) Chief Minister Mayawati welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to convene a meeting of chief ministers to discuss the issue of Kovid-19 in the country. He also demanded that the poor and middle class get free immunization and speed up the drive.

Given the latest outbreak of cases, the PM’s initiative is a welcome one. I will also reiterate the need to ensure that the poor and middle class are vaccinated for free, ”she tweeted in Hindi on Wednesday.

Currently, the Kovid vaccine is being given free in government hospitals, while its price has been fixed at ₹ 250 per shot for private healthcare centers.

Mayawati recently announced that her party will contest Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh in 2022, ending speculation of a possible alliance with the BJP. Many leaders of his party have joined the Samajwadi Party in the last few months.

Mayawati was vaccinated at TS Mishra Medical College and Hospital in Lucknow on Saturday in Amausi. Nodal Officer of the Hospital (Vaccination) Dr. Sudhanshu Tiwari said, Kovishield’s second shot is going to happen on April 9. During the state executive meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had urged the party workers to encourage the party workers to get vaccinated and said that their government was providing the vaccine free.
