Shilpa Shetty talks about the challenges of being a parent to her son Vian after the birth of daughter Samisha. She said that with the arrival of the new baby, it was important to love her equally, not to ignore her.
In February last year, Shilpa and her husband Raj Kundra welcomed their second child, Samisha, through surrogacy. His son Vayan is eight years old.
Speaking to the Bollywood bubble, Shilpa said that the lockdown proved to be a blessing for her as she was able to spend quality time with her two children. However, it was challenging for her to help Vaya adjust to Samisha’s birth, she said.
It was really hard because my son is about nine years old and he is doing virtual school. To be a hand-parent with a newborn baby, not to make him feel that he is being ignored, because he has always been my eye and the apple of all of us, was a difficult task.
Shilpa and Raj welcomed Samisha on 15 February last year after trying to have a child for five years. In an Instagram post announcing the birth of the younger one, she said that her prayers have been miraculously answered.

Currently, Shilpa is seen as one of the judges of Super Dancer along with Anurag Basu and Geeta Kapoor. He is set to return to his acting after more than a decade and has two films in the pipeline. She has Sabbir Khan’s action-thriller Sukkam opposite Abhimanyu Dasani and Shirley Setia. She will also star in Priyadarshan’s comedy Hungama 2 alongside Paresh Rawal, Mizan and Pranitha Subhash.
