The five-match T20I series between India and England has given a lot to Indian cricket enthusiasts about the home team’s chances of doing well in the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will be played in India later this year.
The team management decided to give a chance to some youngsters who have done well in IPL and domestic cricket in the past and both played a key role in India from two back to back to win the series.
The Mumbai Indians duo of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav took international cricket to the water like a duck, as they did well to add to the management problem in the formats.
Former India batsman VVS Laxman believes that both the youngsters have added a lot of zing to the Indian team and both should be part of the team for the T20 World Cup.
Well, this is a very difficult question because what we have seen in this series is that a lot of youngsters take advantage of their opportunities, Laxman said on the Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected’.
He said, but the way Ishan Kishan played his first innings and even after that Suryakumar Yadav played, I think both will definitely be in my team of 15.
He said, it is a tough choice, but I think both are worth playing in the Indian team.
India wants to win their first ICC tournament since winning the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. The team has since entered the semi-finals of at least all ICC tournaments, but has not won the trophy.
