Veteran India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh was named in the playing eleven of the Kolkata Knight Riders’ first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday, and pulled off a miraculous moment in his very first over.
This is Harbhajan’s first professional cricket game in 699 days. His last appearance was for Chennai Super Kings on May 12, 2019, against Mumbai Indians in the final of IPL 2019.
KKR handed captain Eoin Morgan into the hands of Harbhajan after scoring a total of 187/6 in 20 overs, with Wriddhiman Saha and David Warner opening the innings for the Sunrisers.

Warner faced his first ball on the 4th ball of the over and he dismissed it straight to Pat Cummins.
The Australian fast bowler dived towards the ball, but both managed to get their hands on it, but the ball popped in the last over, making Warner an iconic lifeline in the match.
It would have been Harbhajan’s first wicket in 701 days, if Cummins had taken a catch.
Fortunately, for KKR, seamer Prasidh Krishna dismissed Warner for 3 in the next over as the left-hander gave it to Dinesh Karthik directly behind the stumps.
