Diya shares a beautiful bond with her step-daughter Samaira, as reflected from her recent Maldives holiday photos. At Diya’s wedding, Samaira also went down her path with a placard that read “Playpa Girls”.

Earlier this month, Diya revealed that she is expecting her first child with husband Vaibhav. The 39-year-old actor took to Instagram and posted a picture of him raising his baby bump. Blessed. One Earth Mother. With a life force. Which is the beginning of all things. Of all the stories. Lullaby Songs. New plants. Womb, she wrote.

Recently, Diya was criticized soon after the announcement of her marriage. However, she insisted that ‘there should never be any shame from this beautiful journey. At first, we did not get married because we were having children together. We were already married because we wanted to spend our lives together. We came to know that we were going to have a baby while we were planning our wedding. So this marriage is not the result of pregnancy. We did not announce the pregnancy until we knew its safe (medical reasons), she wrote on her Instagram post, responding to a comment.

He said, this is the happiest news of my life. I waited for many years for this to happen. There is no way I would hide it for any reason other than medical.

Diya tied the knot with family and close friends in a private ceremony with Vaibhav on 15 February. He was previously married to filmmaker Sahil Sangha for five years and separated in 2019.
